Implementation of the Courses + AI Tutor

José Manuel Diego-Mantecón is coordinator of the Spanish team in the STEAIM-CT project, where he oversees the Work Package "Implementation of the Courses + AI Tutor." He studied pure Mathematics at Royal Holloway, University of London, and earned both his M.Phil. and Ph.D. in Mathematics Education from the University of Cambridge (UK). He has extensive experience in international STEAM projects and in the design and evaluation of comparative studies. His research focuses on STEM education, particularly mathematics education, and on the integration of digital technologies in teaching and learning. Within STEAIM-CT, he coordinates course implementation and AI-based tutoring solutions to support learners. He currently serves as Director of the Department of Mathematics, Statistics and Computation at the University of Cantabria and as Vice President of the Society of Secondary Mathematics Teachers in Cantabria.

María Sanz-Ruiz

María Sanz-Ruiz is a researcher on Mathematics Education and a member of the Spanish team from the University of Cantabria. Within the STEAIM CT project, this team leads the "Implementation of the Courses + AI Tutor". María obtained her degree in Mathematics at the University of Cantabria in 2021. One year later, she completed the Master's program in Teacher Training in Secondary Education. She is currently a PhD student at the University of Cantabria under the supervision of Dr. José Manuel Diego-Mantecón. Her research is aimed at studying formative e-assessment as a learning tool both for students with difficulties in mathematics and for prospective mathematics teachers.

María Ángeles Diego Mantecón is a researcher on Education and a member of the Spanish team from the University of Cantabria. Within the STEAIM CT project, this team leads the "Implementation of the Courses + AI Tutor". María Ángeles is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Education at San Pablo CEU University in Madrid. She holds degrees in Teaching and Psychopedagogy and a Master's degree in Neuropsychology and Education. She earned a PhD in the same field from the University of Cantabria. She has teaching experience in Early Childhood Education, Primary Education and currently teaches Bachelor's Degree programs in Education while directing the Master's program in Neuroeducation: Optimization of Cognitive Capacities. Her research interests include teacher education and professional development, especially in relation to learning processes and classroom practice.
